Come join us for the 50th Anniversary of Congreso!

CONGRESO 2014
April 17-19, 2014
Baylor University, Waco TX

Congreso 2014 will be a time to celebrate the Lord and what He has done for Hispanic students’ lives through Congreso for 50 years. The first Congreso was held at First Baptist Church San Antonio with about 500 students in attendance. Congreso’s first student president was Dr. Daniel Sanchez who is now a Professor of Missions at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, where he also serves as Director of the Scarborough Institute for Church Growth and Chairperson of the Missions Department.  We encourage all past officers to join us as we celebrate!

Congreso Nation, your past generosity has helped benefit students and ministries across the state and world. In the past eight years alone you have raised over $50,000 to help college students continue their education and ministries like The PEPE Project, which ministers to and educates underprivileged children in Peru. This year, for the 50th anniversary of Congreso, we are challenging you to raise $50,000 in 2014. Here is how your offerings can help:

  • We’re asking each church to bring a $200 offering to Congreso. This will be used to help partner with other ministries to build a house for a Hispanic family in the colonias in the Rio Grande Valley.
  • We’re asking each person at Congreso to contribute to the offerings collected at Congreso on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. These offerings will assist the Women’s Missionary Union WorldCrafts Change Bus ministry. This ministry is designed to help victims of human trafficking. You can read about it here: worldcraftsvillage.com
  • We’re asking each person at Congreso to contribute to the offerings collected at Congreso on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. These offerings will assist Hispanic students with scholarships to continue their education.

Please join us in the 50th Anniversary Challenge  that will impact the lives of Hispanic generations to come!

So whether you’ve been a regular attendee to Congreso or haven’t been in several years, we invite you to join us in celebrating 50 years of Congreso!
